Kansas State Announces Start Times for First Four Games
With the countdown to the season underway, the Kansas State Department of Athletics released the start times for the first four games of the season Tuesday. Following the season opener vs. California in the BCA Classic on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 6:45 p.m. on ESPN, K-State returns to campus for a 6:10 p.m. kickoff in its home opener vs. Troy State on Aug. 30. A 6:10 kickoff has also been slated for game No. 2 vs. McNeese State on Sept. 13, with a 1:10 start on the docket for the Sept. 13 game vs. Massachusetts. (more)

BCA Tickets Available Through K-State Until August 1
Fans wishing to purchase tickets for the BCA Football Classic in the designated K-State seating sections of Arrowhead Stadium may do so through July 31, athletics department officials announced on Monday. (more)

Leckey Added To Lombardi Preliminary Watch List
Already a member of the Outland Trophy watch list, Kansas State senior center Nick Leckey was recently added to the Lombardi watch list, the award committee announced. The Rotary Lombardi Award goes annually to the college football lineman - offense or defense - who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the discipline of Vince Lombardi. With 15 starters returning from last year's 11-2 club, Kansas State fans are expecting to have a lot to cheer about during the upcoming 2003 campaign. And apparently many of the preseason magazines agree. Athlon Sports magazine is listing K-State No. 4 in its preseason top 25, while The Sporting News has ranked the Wildcats No. 7. (more)

Nick Leckey Named to 2003 Outland Trophy Watch List
Nick Leckey, a 2002 first team All-Big 12 selection, has been named to the 2003 Outland Trophy watch list, the Football Writers Association of America has announced. Annually given to college football's top interior lineman, the Outland Trophy will be awarded on Dec. 11 at the ESPN College Footbal Awards Show in Orlando, Florida. Former K-State Punter Brown Scheduled for stem Cell Transplant on Tuesday
Former Kansas State punter Travis Brown, who wrapped up his career with the Wildcats this past season, has been diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia and is currently undergoing treatment at St. Luke's Cancer Institute in Kansas City. Brown began chemotherapy treatments Thursday and is scheduled to receive a stem cell transplant from his older sister, Shelby, on Tuesday, May 27. (more)
